The Onward Project
The Onward Project is registered as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization EIN 33-1289851
Our mission is to inspire and empower those with mobility challenges to access and enjoy nature through experiences, community support, equipment, training and advocacy. We do this primarily through experiences with our AdvenChair.
2025 brought major progress and accomplishments to help inspire and empower those with mobility challenges to access and enjoy nature.
Here a few of the highlights we achieved in 2025:
Attained IRS 501(c)(3) nonprofit status, EIN 33-1289851
Sold AdvenChairs to three youth education programs, bringing the total number of outdoor schools, summer camps, and community groups nationwide to 14 (nine here in Oregon), enabling children with disabilities to get off the porch and participate in the entire camp experience
Expanded our rental/demo fleet of AdvenChairs
Served as a state-wide resource and collaborator on accessibility, providing AdvenChairs to more than 10 other nonprofits
With Wanderlust Tours, we received the Partnership Award at the Oregon Governor’s Conference on Tourism for developing guided “AdvenTours
Became recognized internationally as a leader in creating access to nature for people with disabilities by adaptive travel organizations and publications, including Wheel the World, TravelAbility, and Conde’ Nast Traveler
Added the Great Wall of China to AdvenChair’s list of iconic and challenging destinations accessed on four different continents. “AdvenChairers” have previously explored Machu Picchu in Peru, the Camino de Fatima in Portugal, and the bottom of the Grand Canyon in Arizona.
The Onward Project is making an enormous impact far and wide with people of all ages. We are determined to keep helping them explore the beautiful, wild places in our world, regardless of their mobility status.
